Answering the Call to Serve God

Delves into Isaiah 6:8, a verse that resonates with every Christian who desires to serve God wholeheartedly. In this article, we explore the different aspects of Isaiah’s encounter with God and how it can inform our response to God’s call.

Isaiah’s vision of God in the temple was a life-transforming encounter that brought him to his knees, realizing his unworthiness. Similarly, when we encounter the holy presence of God, it reveals our shortcomings and prompts us to humble ourselves before Him.

Amid Isaiah’s awe-inspiring encounter, God asks a question: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” This question reflects God’s desire to involve His people in His divine mission. He wants us to join Him in His work, which is to redeem humanity from sin and death.

Isaiah’s response to God’s call was immediate and decisive: “Here I am! Send me.” Despite his feelings of inadequacy, Isaiah offered himself to be used by God. Likewise, God is still asking the same question today, and He longs for hearts that respond with surrender and readiness.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be responsive to God’s call in our lives. We need to be attentive to His voice, discerning His will, and obeying His commands. God is not looking for perfect people but willing vessels who trust in His power to work through them.

In conclusion, let us embrace the divine invitation to join God’s mission, knowing that He equips and empowers those who are willing to be used for His glory. May we, like Isaiah, respond with unwavering faith and surrender, saying, “Here I am! Send me.”
